Join the Meal Train
For many people, a home-cooked meal is much more than nourishment for the body; a home-cooked meal also can bring comfort, love and a sense of security, regardless of whether it was enjoyed at home or eaten at a shelter. Bringing that comfort to the children and adults staying at Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter is easy to do by joining the Harbor House meal train.
Teams of volunteers or families commit to making a meal for 30-40 people on a quarterly basis, assuring that shelter residents have a delicious, home-cooked meal on the weekends when Harbor House does not have a cook on staff.
To connect with the meal train, email our volunteer coordinator Tiffany at volunteer@CatholicCharitiesWichita.org.

Give your financial support
Harbor House is funded through both the generosity of individual donors, local businesses and private foundations, as well as federal and state grants. On average, the cost to shelter, feed and provide services for one family in shelter for one month is $3,000. Cash contributions from donors allow Harbor House to provide additional client services, create a warm, inviting and safe shelter for survivors where all their needs are met, and maintain operations of the shelter and its programs.
To make a financial contribution to help the abused in your community, visit our online giving page and select “Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter” in the designation box.
