DONATION DRIVE FOR CHILDREN IN SHELTER

Back to School Drive

July 1 – July 31

You can help children in shelter as they prepare for the school year.

Supplies are needed year round

For many school-aged children, a fun way to prepare for the school year is to go shopping for new supplies like notebooks, pencils, crayons and clothes.

For the children served by the two shelters at Catholic Charities or for the children who interact with a classroom Foster Grandparent from Catholic Charities, the need for supplies happens all year long.

When children come to St. Anthony Family Shelter or Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter, they often don’t have the supplies or clothes they need for school. One of the first steps our case managers take to help new children in the shelter is to ensure they are going to school and have the supplies they need to be successful.

What Harbor House Means to Me

Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter

Harbor House is more than a domestic violence emergency shelter, helping hundreds escape domestic violence in Wichita.

The ministry helps thousands of survivors who do not even step foot in the shelter, instead receiving services in the community or through a 24/7 hotline.

St. Anthony Family Shelter

St. Anthony is the only Wichita-area shelter designed specifically for families with minor children.

The ministry helps thousands of families with basic needs, assistance and support so they may gain stable housing, receive asistance with employment, and education on fianancial literacy, parenting and other life skills.

Your dollars can help make someone’s stay more comfortable.

If you don’t have time to get out to shop, you can shop our wish at Amazon or you can make a financial contribution. Donated dollars will allow the team at Harbor House to purchase items that are most needed, when they are needed. Here are ways that your dollars could help:

$25

Provide one child with a lunch box and reusable water bottle

$50

Equip one child in shelter with basic school supplies

$100

Supply one child in shelter with a backpack and all necessary school supplies

$250
