Three Catholic Charities staff members recently received promotions to leadership positions within our ministries.
SAFE Project
Karlee Goffrier, previously a case manager for SAFE Project, is now serving as SAFE Project director. Karlee has been with Catholic Charities since 2021.
SAFE Project is a collaborative program between the Kansas Department for Children and Families and Harbor House at Catholic Charities. SAFE Project case managers in Wichita, Hutchinson, Winfield and Pittsburg serve a 25-county area of southcentral and southeast Kansas, helping survivors who believe current or past domestic violence or sexual assault is affecting their safety or ability to work.
Southeast Kansas Services at Catholic Charities
Joe Seitz, previously project coordinator for Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF), has taken on the new role of program director for Southeast Kansas Services (SEK) in Pittsburg. Joe joined Catholic Charities in December 2019 as program director for Our Daily Bread Food Pantry. In 2021, he began working with homeless veterans and their families as leader for SSVF.
Southeast Kansas Services is headquartered in Pittsburg and serves an 11-county area in the southeast corner of Kansas. In SEK we work to prevent homelessness while stabilizing housing by providing rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing, case management and referrals to community partners.
Supportive Services for Veteran Families
Lauren Fernz, a case manager for SSVF since 2021, has been promoted to SSVF project director.
Supportive Services for Veteran Families provides rapid rehousing and homeless prevention services for low-income veterans and their families throughout southcentral and southeast Kansas. Funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, SSVF helps qualified veterans with homeless prevention services; rental assistance; coordination of mainstream and veteran benefits; and, case management services for long-term housing stability.
